Base64 to Image Converter

Paste Base64 or a data URL and the image appears right away.

Your text and files never leave your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

The image preview appears here.

How to use

  1. Paste a Base64 string into the box — with or without the data:image/…;base64, prefix. Line breaks and URL-safe characters are fine.
  2. The tool reads the first bytes of the data to find the real format (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, ICO, TIFF, BMP or SVG), even if the data URL says otherwise.
  3. Check the preview, pixel dimensions and file size.
  4. Click “Download” to save the image with the matching file extension.

FAQ

Do I need the “data:image/png;base64,” part?

No. Plain Base64 works too, because the format is detected from the file signature in the data itself.

Why is there no preview even though the type was detected?

Some formats such as HEIC and TIFF are not supported by most browsers. The data is still valid, so you can download it and open it in an image app.

Is the image sent to a server?

No. Decoding and previewing happen entirely in your browser.
