Announcements play only while this page stays open. Check your volume and silent mode.

How to use

  1. Pick how often to announce the time — on the hour, every 30 minutes, every 10 minutes and so on.
  2. Press “Turn on” and the next announcement time appears. Three short pips sound in the last three seconds and a long tone marks the exact minute.
  3. With “Read the time aloud” ticked, the long tone is followed by a voice saying the time, such as “It’s 3 PM”.
  4. Use “Say the time now” to check that sound and voice work on your device.

FAQ

Why can’t I hear the voice?

The voice comes from your device’s built-in text-to-speech. Some browsers or devices have no voice for the language. Turn off silent mode on phones, or add a speech voice in your system settings.

Does it work in a background tab?

Yes. The tones are scheduled ahead of time, so they play on time even while you use another tab. Closing the tab or letting the device sleep stops the announcements.

Which clock does it follow?

It follows your device’s clock. Make sure your device syncs its time with the internet for the best accuracy.
