How to use

  1. Paste the original text on the left and the changed text on the right. The result updates as you type.
  2. Choose how to compare: by line for documents and code, by word for edited sentences, by character for typos.
  3. Green marks additions and red strike-through marks deletions. In line mode, the changed words inside a modified line are highlighted too.
  4. For long texts, turn on “Show only changed areas” to fold away unchanged lines.

FAQ

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The comparison runs entirely in your browser, so contracts and private drafts never leave your device.

How is similarity calculated?

It is the share of the two texts that did not change, counted in the unit you picked (lines, words or characters). 100% means the texts are identical.

Are whitespace and line-ending differences detected?

By default every space counts. “Ignore whitespace” skips leading and trailing spaces and whitespace-only changes. Windows and Mac line endings are always treated as the same.
