How to use

Each share is (total × (1 + tip %) − set amounts) ÷ remaining people, rounded to the unit you choose.
Enter the bill total and the number of people. Leave the tip at 0 if it is already included.
Pick a rounding unit and direction for easy payments. Rounding up leaves a little extra; rounding down leaves you a little short.
Turn on “The organizer covers any difference” and everyone else pays the same rounded amount while one person adjusts so the total matches exactly.
Copy the summary into your group chat. Your inputs are kept in the page address, so the link can be shared too.

How do I handle someone who only had a drink?

Add them under “People paying a set amount”. Their payment is taken off the total first and the rest is split evenly among everyone else.

Should the tip be calculated on the total?

This calculator adds the tip percentage to the whole bill before splitting. If your bill already includes service, leave the tip at 0.

Which currency does it use?

None. It works with plain numbers, so it suits any currency. Choose 0.01 for currencies with cents, or a larger unit to keep transfers round.
