FAQ
How does strikethrough work without formatting?
A Unicode combining character (such as U+0336) is added after each letter and drawn across it. Because the line is part of the text itself, it survives copy and paste into apps that have no formatting options.
Is it friendly to screen readers and search engines?
Not really. Screen readers may read the extra marks aloud or skip the text, and search engines may not match it with the plain word. Avoid it for important information, usernames or names.
Why does the line look broken?
Each app and font draws combining marks a little differently. Try another style, or leave spaces unmarked for a cleaner look.
