JSON Formatter & Validator
Paste JSON and it is formatted instantly — mistakes are pointed out by line and column.
Your text and files never leave your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
How to use
- Paste JSON into the input box and the indented result appears right away.
- Pick 2 spaces, 4 spaces or a tab under “Indent”, or choose “Minify” to strip all whitespace.
- Turn on “Sort keys A–Z” to order the keys of every object, which makes two JSON documents much easier to compare.
- If the syntax is wrong, the output shows the offending line with a ^ marker and the status line tells you the line and column.
FAQ
Will formatting change my numbers?
No. Numbers are copied exactly as written, so large integers such as 12345678901234567890 and forms like 1.50 stay intact. \u escapes inside strings are left alone too.
Does it accept comments or single quotes?
Only standard JSON (RFC 8259) is accepted. If there are comments, single quotes or trailing commas, the tool shows where they are so you can fix them.
Is my JSON sent to a server?
No. Formatting and validation run entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded, so API responses and config files stay on your device.
