How to use
- Enter one name per line and choose the language it comes from. The same spelling can sound different by language (Charles is 찰스 in English but 샤를 in French).
- Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian pronunciation), French, German, Italian and Indonesian names follow Korea’s official rules for writing foreign words.
- English spelling doesn’t show pronunciation, so common English names come from a built-in list; anything else is guessed and listed under the result.
- Turn on “Show romanized reading” to see how the Hangul is read, like 카를로스 (ka-reul-lo-seu). “Spelling” switches English names between the official form and the one most Koreans use.
FAQ
Is this a Korean name for me?
No. It writes the sound of your own name in Hangul, the way Korean media would. It doesn’t create a new Korean-style name like Kim or Lee.
Is the Hangul spelling official?
It is an estimate based on Korea’s official rules for foreign words. Famous people are sometimes written differently by custom, so double-check before using it for anything important.
Is my name sent to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
